TRIA

company history and characteristics

Tria SPA, established in Milan in 1954, originated when Angelo Anceschi pioneered and manufactured the inaugural blade granulator. Since its inception, the company has undergone substantial growth in both its product range and international outreach. Expanding significantly, Tria ventured into the foreign market. In the early 1990s, the company forged technological collaborations with German and Japanese firms. Over the years, these partnerships led to the establishment of TRIA offices in various global locations, including Germany, Brazil, America, and China. This strategic expansion solidified Tria's presence and operations on an international scale.

Tria specializes in the production of machinery and complete plants dedicated to recycling clean plastics, encompassing all waste generated during plastic production. The company manufactures granulators designed to reduce the size of plastics effectively. These granulators play a crucial role in the recycling process by breaking down plastics into smaller particles, facilitating subsequent processing and reuse of the material.

CUSTOMER REQUIREMENT

For TRIA's specific requirements, the company sought level sensor gauges with the following attributes:

  • rotary design of compact size, suitable for detecting both powders and granular materials;
  • accurate and reliable performance in detecting material levels within their machinery;
  • ease of connectivity with their instruments for seamless integration within their systems.

SUGGESTED SOLUTIONS

To meet the customer's requirement for a level sensor in compact machinery, CAMLogic recommended the PFG57, a rotary paddle level switch designed for solid materials. This small-sized sensor is ideal for installation in confined spaces, such as small tanks or dosing cells. It is constructed using die-cast aluminum and offers flexibility with either a threaded connection to the G 1" 1/2 (BSPP) process or a mounting flange. Moreover, the diverse selection of propellers available with the PFG57 enables the detection of various materials with densities ranging between 0.1 and 2.0 kg/dm3. CAMLogic's level switches boast customization options tailored to each customer's specific needs, encompassing different types of helixes, extensions, guards, electrical accessories, and fastening systems. This adaptability ensures suitability for a wide array of applications and operational requirements.

TRIA requested a customized version of the PFG57 sensor, incorporating the following additions:

  • AISI 304 stainless steel shaft with a specific length extension to ensure precise material detection without interfering with other automated operations;
  • iron lock nut to streamline the process of connecting the instrument;
  • compatibility with a power supply of either 115/230VAC or 24VDC, providing flexibility in power options for the indicator's operation.

CONCLUSIONS

TRIA's decision to choose CAMLogic was rooted in recognizing the fundamental value of reliability in our level sensors. An experienced technician from TRIA highlighted the crucial significance of level switches in ensuring the proper operation of the system. Accurate and timely level signaling is imperative, with no room for missed or false signals. Any system blockage could not only lead to a loss in production capacity but also result in financial losses. For instance, considering a potential production of 1 ton of plastic film at an average cost of approximately €1.2/kg, a blockage could lead to a loss of €1,200. To address these reliability concerns and accommodate the diverse needs of the customer, TRIA opted to purchase the customized CAMLogic PFG57 indicator. This customized solution was tailored to meet their specific requirements and ensure the reliable and accurate operation of their systems.
